This flash memory card is highly compatible with all the hi-tech portable and remote computing devices. Flash memory card comes in different size and storage capacity. There are various memory cards which are available nowadays across all over the world. Some of the most popular and widely used memory cards are SD card (Secure Digital card), CF (Compact Flash card), MMC (Multi Media Card), Memory Stick, Smart Media card, etc. The size of the Compact Digital card is similar to the size of the matchbox whereas the size of the SD card and Multi-Media card is similar to the size of a postal stamp. Among all these cards, the SD card is highly popular for storing a huge amount of media files. There are two types of SD cards – Micro SD card and Mini SD card. Along with all other cards, the SD card is also used in all the latest and advanced hi-tech electronic devices such as smart mobile phones, digital camera, MP3 player, camcorders, PSP, etc. The common and prominent features of this memory card are as follows:
Besides these, the Memory card is far better than hard disk because a memory card is lighter, extremely portable and allow immediate access. Moreover, the memory card is less prone to mechanical damage compared to a hard disk. In addition to this, the memory card is also not free from corruption. If your flash memory card gets damaged then the chances of data loss are more. Moreover, sometimes if you format your memory card in order to store new files can also lead to data loss. Formatting can be accidentally or intentionally. Both the cases of formatting are responsible for deletion of media files and other important stored data from a memory card.
Deletion/lost of picture files due to the formatting of the memory card
Formatting a memory card can erase all your important data and media files for permanently. Accidentally your flash memory card gets formatted when you by mistakenly click on Format button on your computer. Moreover, you may delete digital photos by accidentally formatting the memory card using format card option on the various multimedia digital cameras. Other than this, your memory card gets formatted due to some error messages or due to the corruption of the device.
If the device is screening the error message "Memory card not formatted" repeatedly, then it is clear that the digital device is corrupted. In order to fix the problem and to avoid the appearance of this error message, you might format the memory card immediately. But formatting is not the ultimate solution for this; because once your card gets formatted then you may not be able to find the pictures and other stored data. Formatting modifies the file system and directories, thus if you format the device, all the previously stored data on the device will be deleted. In addition to this, there is another aspect to it where some digital camera provides a low-level formatting which leads to the deletion of all the important pictures and other crucial data from memory card. Sometimes, you may also have to format your flash memory card if it is infected by a harmful virus. Generally, you don’t need to format your memory card, if the anti-virus program can efficiently remove the virus attached to it. But in case, if the anti-virus program fails to detect the virus then you need to format your memory card in order to protect the mechanical structure of the memory card from any kind of damages.
Besides all these reasons of deletion of picture files from memory card due to formatting, there are many other reasons responsible for the deletion of photo files from a memory card. Some of them are mentioned below:
